Bowling

We went bowling for FHE one night and Joey and Raymie came with us, it was a really fun time. Melissa would push her ball down then turn and run back to the table, she wouldn't watch the ball go, it was quite funny. JR on the other hand would sit and watch his ball as it slowly crept down the lane. It was good we had more adults there for we had to alternate retrieving JR from the arcade which he had discovered some motorcycles, and race car games. He also liked looking into the hole where the balls come out and trying to push them back.

Sugar Bear

Our big dog Sugar Bear turned four this November. She is a special part of our family, we love her very much. This was a big year for her and us, she had her first litter of puppys on December 30 2007. The nine pups kept us all quite busy for the two months until they went to their new homes. Sugar was a natural mother, she did wonderfull through everything, the birth, nursing, cleaning and weaning. All the pups went to great families, I couldn't have been more pleased, for that was a main concern of mine. We went on to normal life walking, running, park visits, swimming and several trips to the Acton Homestead which she always loves. We also enjoyed staying at Rich and Sophie's and seeing how scared Rich was of her, although his little boys love her. Sugar loves all kids, but never resists to growl or bark at anyone passing by, what can I say she's very "cautious". She has definately mellowed in her wisdom of age, but hopefully not too much more. We love her for what she is, and we like that we know what to expect from her. Sugar is a good dog, and though I dislike all the hair and stinkyness that comes from her, we are most glad to have her as part of our family.

Monte's Birthday!

Monte's birthday was a fun night, since it was on a friday this year we wanted to stick true to the holiday and have everyone dress up and they all did! I made homemade macaroni and cheese and hot apple cidar. Monte requested pineapple upside cake, yummy. He turned 29! When I asked him about being in the last year of his 20's he said, its just a number, but ask again in years to come. We dressed up as a cave family, or Nephites, or as one friend said the Geico commercial. I made mine and Monte's, and he made the bones for our necklaces out of foil and masking tape. We had fun dancing, eating yummy food everyone brought and taking pictures of each other.

We took the kids out trick or treating to the houses around us, at first Melissa didn't want to knock, but she quickly figured out the benefit. one of our neighbors house was really decorated, dark with noises and black light and scary stuff, but Aunt Breanne was able to help her be brave up to the door to get her candy. It was quite a cute experience.

Halloween fun

Our little Bambam, These little ones looove the lollipops.

Caleb showing me his lollipop, he was dressed as Buzz.

Melissa liked sporty Uncle Joey's Elvis wig and glasses.

Robby, Katheryn, Jessica, Caleb (who didn't want to be in the picture) and Rick.

Farmer Jared and Mechanic Bud (Breanne)

Captain Raymie Sparrow and her fat Elvis date (Joey)
Raymie's sword was a big hit with JR he knew exactly what to do with it, watch out for Bam Bam!
Jan was dressed as a witch and Tim a train conducter. Great fun everyone, thanks for coming!

First Ride

Melissa took her first ride on Daddy's motorcycle! Monte took her around the street a bit, she held on to the handlebars and kept her feet up. She really liked it. Its funny because she has never liked being by the bikes when they are running before. I don't know why today was different. It was fun for her and Monte of course. There was one person who didn't like the idea of being left though, sorry JR you're not quite big enough yet to hold on.

Such a sad face! He did calm down, and was happy when they came back. Then he got his turn to sit on it. He was all wet from playing with the hose, and then played in a tiny pile of dirt from washing off the motorcycle. If there is any bit of dirt around, they're all over it!

little and big

Today we were talking about being little and big. We were drying off after a bath and in their nakedness I seem to notice legs and such being bigger or longer. So I was observing that JR was getting so big, but that I wanted him to stay little to be my baby. Melissa said she was getting big too, but she was also still little. (yes thats what I like to hear) Then she went on to say that she wanted to get big...so she could reach the counter...to make food...and be a mommy (yes this is where I start to melt), and that I could be little and be a sister like 'bubby' (Jr's nickname). This picture is
from the beginning of this year. Proof of who's growing!

Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

We had a fun little trip to the pumpkin farm. I'll have to say this is one of my favorite places, when you go during the week you don't have to pay for parking, and they have so many neat things for the kids to see and play on that don't cost anything. Even the petting farm is free. We were the last train of the evening, and we got to stop by the apple trees and give apples to the ponies in the pasture. They also have the yummiest homemade treats! Like pumpkin-apple muffins, caramel apples, cookies, breads...oh and their apple cider is so so good! The main page picture is on the train .
